Dear Reader

Katarina's at Kurland
Next time you're in Plett, why don't you give Katarina's at Kurland Estate a try.  Named after the owner's, Di and Peter Behr's daughter, this bistro style restaurant is headed up by chef Leon Coetzee, whose impressive career includes spells at Five Flies in Cape Town and the world famous Royal Mirage in Dubai where he trained with Gordon Ramsay.
The restaurant makes use of the impressive organive herb and vegetable garden of the
Kurland Hotel, ensuring that local flavour permeates every meal.

CCTV for the Industrial area
In the last few months Plett has unfortunately been in the news for all the wrong reasons.  Service delivery protests disrupted traffic flow on the N2 and resulted in much damage to local industrial property.
With this in mind a delegation from the municipality recently visited Cape Town to assess the City's Central Improvement District initiatives and models together with CCTV installations.
It is hoped that the use of CCTV will aid the police in reacting to emergency type situations more quickly as well as identifying those perpetrators who seem intent on damaging property.

FTTSA expands family
Two Plettenberg Bay businesses, Monkeyland Primate Sanctuary and Birds of Eden, have recently been added to the
Fair Trade in Tourism family in the Western Cape.  The objective of these businesses is to provide groups of selected primates and birds that are genetically pure, wild and healthy that can be reintroduced into thier home ranges.
Monkeyland is the world's first free range range multi species primate sanctuary, and Birds of Eden is the world's largest free flight aviary and bird sanctuary.  Both are situated in The Crags just outside Plettenberg Bay.
